Rugs produced around the town of Kars are similar to Caucasian rugs, with their colors being more subdued. Kars is also used as a trade name, related to the quality of the weaving. Typical designs closely resemble the neighboring Caucasian regions. Kars rugs often show "Kasak" designs as seen in Fachralo, Gendje, and Akstafa rugs, but their structure and materials are different.
